Having promised all of you an Easter Bouquet, last Sunday I
traveled to Temple Square to photograph the flowers. Two
weeks earlier the LDS church had general conference and members
came from all over the world to attend. It occurred to me then
that the flowers around the temple grounds would be at their
peak performance for the special occasion. As Easter Sunday
approached, another big occasion, I hoped the flowers would
still be at their peak.
My self imposed "assignment" had it's challenges. The temple was
under renovation and well hidden behind tons of scaffolding, so
I was not able to take any photos that included the temple (at
least not any that would be aesthetically pleasing.)
Additionally I was greeted by strong constant breezes. In order
to get a deep field of focus I prefer to use an aperture of
f/22, so you will notice that in one of my photos my shutter
speed was as low as 1/4 of a second. I will just let you imagine
how long I waited for the flowers to be still enough for 1/4 of
a second to work. |
