Probably my best performance was the
15 mile run of the 50 Mile Series put on by the Salt Lake City
Track Club. They hosted a 5 mile race in January,  a 10 mile
race in February,  a 15 mile race in March, and  a 20 mile race
in April. Step by step this prepared people for the summer
marathons. There was an overall standing for the entire series, so I accumulated
points with 5th place finishes in both the 5 Mile and the 10 Mile. In  one of my proudest
performances I took 4th in the 15 Mile (24 kilometers) with a time of 1:23:55,
or an average of 5:35 per mile (3:49 per kilometer.) That put me
in 3rd place overall for the series.

Not related to the 50 mile series, other performances were:

1st in the 6.0 Mile "Beat the Band" (31:23)
				2nd in the "Capitol
Run Around" 10k (34:10)
2nd in the Morgan to Peterson 10 Mile Run (55:22)
2nd in the "Running Ute Classic" 4.85 miles (26:30)
				3rd in the 8th
Annual Sugar House Park 6 Mile (32:08)
7th in the Easter Seals Classic (5.913 miles) (32:45)

				Out of 3800
entries I placed 7th in the Utah Heart and Lung Association 10k (33:24)

As I mentioned on an earlier page, when I was
just 16 years old  I went to Clarion, PA for the districts of the Junior
Olympics and won the One Mile Run (4:37). Two weeks later I took 5th at the
				regionals in
Oil City, NY with a time of 4:33. I still had another year of eligibility
remaining but because I trained so hard when I was a senior I ran into serious
allergy problems.

(Above Photo: Someone was kind enough to take this photo of me while I was
running the 15 miler along the roads in Draper, Utah.)
