I had a friend here in Thailand
who was from New Zealand. At one point in his life he was a wine
salesman, traveling around country selling wines to the retail stores.
He had a sales pitch as to why you shouldn't buy wine from Chile
or from France, or from any other country. He said for example that
wine from Chile was shipped overseas in powder form and then
reconstituted, or that the grapes from France were thrown onto
the back of wagons with manure and that a slight taint
of the manure lingered in the wine. I knew absolutely nothing
about wine and was gullible enough to believe him until I met
another friend from Italy who was a real connoisseur of wine. He
collects bottles of the very best wine from around the world and
travels to various countries like France and Spain to actually
visit the vineyards and their owners, some with family
traditions that go back hundreds of years. But whether salesman,
connoisseuror, or arm swinging prohibitionist, I hope all can
appreciate the excellence of this image with it's fanning rows
				and dainty little clouds. |
